Instill ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.

Skill content: We store the skills, files, and metadata you create within Instill.

Usage data: We may collect basic usage logs (page views, API requests) to monitor service health. We do not sell this data.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the Instill service
  • To authenticate your identity for the web app and MCP OAuth clients
  • To respond to support requests sent to hi@getinstill.com
  • To improve and maintain the platform

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database and S3-compatible object storage, hosted in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt before being stored.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Vercel — application hosting and deployment
  • Managed PostgreSQL and S3-compatible storage providers — database and object storage

These services have their own privacy policies. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies for session management. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via the Settings page in your Instill account, or by emailing hi@getinstill.com. Account deletion removes all your projects, skills, and personal data from our systems.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, data is removed within 30 days.
